‘Housefull 5’ actress Chitrangda Singh has said this in many of her interviews how she was supposed to be a part of films like Tanu Weds Manu and Gangster. But there is one more film she was doing and that is the 2003 film Chalte Chalte with Shah Rukh Khan. So why did this not happen?
Singh revealed, “Aishwarya was already a part of it and they started shooting. Some mix up happened and they were stuck in the middle and looking for someone. Aziz Mirza had seen my work and was Sudhir Mishra’s close friend and wanted to work with me. They reached out to me, that’s what Shah Rukh told me.”

She added, “This was the time when I gave up work and changed my phone number. So it didn’t happen.”
The actress revealed, “Nobody knows what the audiences want to watch, what they are going to enjoy. Do they want to watch a thriller or a love story? What is it? Everyone was keeping their fingers crossed all the time. We were messaging each other also ‘Fingers crossed.’ I am glad that people are happy to see a comedy.”
She even spoke about the idea of two climaxes in the film, she plays the killer in version B. “At that time we were not told right till the October of last year. Even when we were shooting for different climaxes, the cast was unaware too. Akshay knew and whoever was in the scene knew. Sajid was very clear he wants to keep this a secret.”
I think the villain is the most interesting character. The evil is always more exciting. Maya is a very interesting character and there is a reason why she turns evil. I got to do a little bit of action and we mixed with thriller and comedy, it was lovely. I loved playing her.
