in Bengaluru.
The food park development coincides with the approaching completion of Hassan Airport. Local industrialists are advocating for enhanced industrial development in this Malnad city, considering its connectivity to coastal areas.
FKCCI state president Balakrishna highlighted Hassan's suitability for small and medium enterprises. He confirmed the signing of an agreement for the much-needed food park in the city. The region could evolve into an industrial centre, generating employment for thousands of youth, provided the district administration and govt support with essential infrastructure and roads. He also emphasised Hassan's tourism potential, suggesting that tourism development could boost the district's economic growth.
He emphasised the importance of local business development. The Karnataka State Industrialists' Association continues its efforts to establish modern enterprises at district levels, engaging in multiple discussions with state and central authorities.
Hassan MLA HP Swaroop Prakash spoke about the provision of subsidised land in the Hassan industrial area for entrepreneurs. He warned of legal consequences and land reallocation for those who fail to implement projects or utilise allocated land properly.
He also revealed ongoing plans for an IT park, with Union minister HD Kumaraswamy pledging appropriate support for the initiative.
HA Kiran, IT BT Karnataka chairman and FKCCI director, discussed FKCCI's annual Manthan programme, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among youth.
Manthan serves as a business plan competition platform for undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma students across the state to showcase innovative business concepts. FKCCI offers prizes up to Rs 10 lakh for outstanding plans, alongside necessary support, capital, and guidance for business establishment.
Ramesh N Lahoti, who previously served as FKCCI president, emphasised that implementing skill training programmes in colleges could foster competent entrepreneurs and workers. He stressed the need for educational institutions' involvement.
