On Easter Monday, a group of armed gunmen attacked Ilesha Baruba Motor Park in Kwara State, resulting in the deaths of at least four people and injuries to two others. Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert specializing in the Lake Chad region, reported the incident in a post on his X handle on Tuesday. According to Makama's intelligence sources, approximately 10 gunmen opened fire indiscriminately on individuals relaxing at a local joint in the vicinity of the motor park around 2130hrs.

The victims of the attack have been identified as Alhaji Ja’awire, Abduljabar, and Mohammed Nasamu. The name of the fourth deceased individual remains unconfirmed. Following the shooting, the attackers immediately fled the scene. Security forces promptly arrived at the location, where they collected the bodies of the victims and transported them to the Ilesha Baruba Morgue for autopsy. The two injured individuals were quickly taken to a hospital to receive medical treatment.
