Guild Wars 2: Feasts of Tyria cookbook due out in September
Food and cooking are staples of many video games, even when they aren’t really about food and cooking. After all, even video game characters have to eat — to restore health and mana, or to gain buffs. So the trend of video game cookbooks is no surprise — though New Flavors of Azeroth, released in 2021, did surprise us by including the Shadowlands-era Steak al la Mode (better than it sounds!), which came from an expansion packed with odd culinary choices. And the latest addition to our cookbook shelf (obviously we have a cookbook shelf) is the upcoming Guild Wars 2: Feasts of Tyria, which is coming out on September 16.
This Guild Wars 2 cookbook is described as a “cookbook and travelogue,” which looks pretty typical for this genre. It includes a collection of 60 recipes based on foods in the game with thematic descriptions and photos. However, in addition to tasty eats and a little lore, it also includes a unique digital weapon skin for the spears added in Janthir Wilds: Seimur’s Butterknife. Players with a certain aesthetic will appreciate it.
You can pre-order Feasts of Tyria now, and we’ll be checking out the recipes when it’s released later this year. However, I might get to it early and try out the Rosemary Bread recipe included in the book’s preview images. Though it isn’t particularly exotic, bread baked in a dutch oven is usually a tasty treat with a nice crust. But we’ll all have to wait to see the rest of the book.
