Carl Cox delivers incredible interview with Dan Reid
Perhaps most renowned for his work with Ultra Music Festival Miami and the Resistance Stage, Carl Cox has had his hand in many projects throughout his career. Sitting down with fellow producer and friend Dan Reid, the two reflect on many topics together. Perhaps intriguing was his history with the legendary British TV show, Top Of The Pops. Early on, he joined and Michael Bolton on the program. Cox also reveals how the program generally required live musicians, something the producer wasn’t prepared for when he was booked.
The conversation also dove into his residency at the newly opened Ibiza club UNVRS. The excitement Carl Cox has for the opportunity is palpable as he reflects on the impact of the island dating back to 1995 and how he hopes to continue to be a part of that evolution moving forward. The two also had some lighter topics to address, such as the uncertainties of DJing with vinyl (Was beer spilled on a record? Will the fuzz on the needle not cause problems before the track ends?), to the golden era of A24 and its three levels of music.
