Red Dead Redemption 2 also performed strongly, selling 4 million copies. It has been recognized as the best-selling title in the US for the past 7 years based on dollar sales.

Take Two, the publisher, confirmed in its latest financial report that GTA V's sales have increased from 210 million units in the last quarterly report to 215 million units. This figure includes physical stock held by retailers yet to be sold to consumers. The consistent sale of 5 million GTA V copies each quarter highlights the game's sustained popularity.

Despite Rockstar's focus on other projects and lack of updates, Red Dead Redemption 2 maintains strong sales figures. In contrast, GTA Online continues to receive regular content updates. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick referred to GTA 5 as the "standard-bearer for our industry" during a recent investor Q&A.
