Governor Soludo charges youths to do their best in community development

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has called on youths to contribute eminently in the development of their communities.
The Governor represented by his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, made the call during a two-day training workshop for the 179 Anambra community youth leaders and the South East youth leaders. The event was organized by Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Youth Wing (ASATU Youth) and was held at ASATU Secretariat Hall, Old Government House, Awka.
Governor Soludo called on them to use their various groups and platforms to assist the development of their respective communities and state governments, for more prosperous society.
Ibezim, described youthfulness as a matter of the heart and emphasised the need for young people to continually evaluate their roles in society and make amendment when necessary.
He commended the organisers and advised youth leaders to play their parts well in community development; even as he regretted that many youths no longer think of how to contribute to the development of their various towns and state.
The event, with the theme: The Role of ASATU Youth in Deepening and Consolidating Leadership, Security, Governance and Value System for Community Development in line with the Solution Agenda of Mr Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR; attracted dignitaries.
In his Welcome Address, the host, President General ASATU Youth, Comrade Ken Okoli expressed his gratitude to the state government for its support and praised Governor Soludo for his great achievements. He assured ASATU Youth Wings continuous support for the Soludo led administration.
Okoli encouraged his members to be upright and lead people the right way.
Presenting the Keynote Address, member representing Anaocha 2 Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu called on youth leaders to always bear in mind that the role expected of them in their various communities is to give good governance and good life to their people.
He reminded them that government alone cannot effect needed development, hence the need for all to join hands with the government.
The Chief Host, Anambra State’s Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Agha Mbah expressed his delight over the growing involvement of youths in governance. He assured them that Governor Soludo remains committed to youth empowerment and will continue to pursue policies that uplift young people.
On his part, the Commissioner for Land, Anambra State, Prof. Offornze Amaucheazi, SAN admonished youths to shun negative attitudes in land matters, as such drives investors away from the state.
He also encouraged them to participate in community decision-making processes related to land use, for positive effects.
