Senator Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa State, has lauded the state’s security agencies for rescuing Justice Ebieyerin Omukoro from his abductors.

Justice Omukoro, a state high court judge, was released on Thursday evening after spending 12 days in the kidnappers’ den.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, security personnel pursued his kidnappers after Governor Diri ordered that he be rescued safely.

The Bayelsa governor praised the combined efforts of security agencies, particularly men from the Department of State Services (DSS), who applied relentless pressure on the kidnappers, resulting in Omukoro’s release.

He stated that any criminals who fled due to the pressure would be apprehended and brought to justice.

While assuring residents of their safety and security, Governor Diri reaffirmed his warning to criminals to avoid Baby Elsa, citing his administration’s significant investment in maintaining the state’s peace and security.

“The administration will continue to assist security agencies in carrying out their duties,” he said.

The governor emphasis end the importance of public support and cooperation, as well as maintaining the state’s security.
