Global Delegates Laud China's Role in Africa's Development
Global delegates at the 4th Dialogue on Exchanges and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations have praised China for its significant impact on Africa’s development. They emphasized strategic investments, technology transfer, and infrastructure as key aspects of the cooperation.
The event attracted over 400 participants from 60 countries, where leaders from the Global South lauded China’s commitment to mutual growth through initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative. They described the China-Africa partnership as a model for achieving equitable progress.
The Global South generally includes countries in Africa, Latin America, and much of Asia and Oceania, which often face challenges related to poverty, inequality, and limited access to resources and opportunities.
Wang Liyong, Director General of the China Centre for Contemporary World Studies, stated that China’s development efforts in Africa are driven by genuine passion rather than self-interest. He emphasized that China has a sincere compassion for developing nations and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to providing further assistance. “China is dedicated to supporting developing nations and promoting peace. We seek collaboration through the Belt and Road Initiative and the People-to-People Initiative,” Liyong asserted.
