Crypto.com Research and Insights reports substantial growth in cryptocurrency adoption. Over the past five years, the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) has reached an impressive 163%. This surge is attributed to the increasing popularity of Bitcoin ($BTC) and other leading cryptocurrencies.

According to Crypto.com, the total number of global cryptocurrency owners surpassed 700 million in April 2025. This represents a significant increase from previous years, with 607 million owners in April 2024 and 512 million in April 2023. The addition of nearly 200 million users in just two years underscores the rapid expansion of the crypto market.

In May 2020, the number of global digital currency owners stood at 65 million. The subsequent increase of approximately 650 million users within five years indicates widespread crypto adoption. This growth is supported by developments within the Crypto.com ecosystem, including the global rollout of crypto cards and network upgrades.

The cryptocurrency market is currently showing bullish behavior, with Bitcoin ($BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH) experiencing significant gains.
