Ghana Launches Comprehensive Business Survey | News Ghana
The sample-based exercise spans 101 economic sectors—including agriculture, manufacturing, ICT, energy, and services—targeting over 40,000 enterprises nationwide.
Government Statistician Alhassan Iddrisu emphasized the survey’s role in evidence-based policymaking during Wednesday’s Accra launch. “IBES II delivers the most current snapshot of Ghana’s business landscape,” he stated, noting its capacity to inform investment, job creation, and productivity strategies. The data aims to address critical gaps in understanding formal and informal business dynamics amid economic reforms.
Preliminary findings will undergo processing before December’s final report publication. Results will guide the Mahama administration’s industrial development agenda under Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy policy framework. The exercise represents Ghana’s largest business data collection effort since 2022, with enumerators visiting enterprises across all 16 regions.
