Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD)

The initiative aims to boost efficiency and sustain Ghana’s global cocoa leadership under President John Mahama’s economic agenda.

According to official statements, COCOBOD will upgrade logistics, deploy digital systems, and enhance security infrastructure, including new operational vehicles and CCTV surveillance at warehouses. “We must expand infrastructure and streamline operations to remain competitive,” Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo emphasized, noting reinvestment of revenue into critical gaps.

The modernization supports round-the-clock operations beyond shift extensions. Staff across Cocoa Marketing Company and Quality Control divisions were acknowledged for maintaining Ghana’s premium cocoa standards. Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo stressed collaboration and ICT improvements to address operational challenges observed during facility visits.

The policy integration forms part of broader economic reforms targeting job creation and productivity. COCOBOD’s adjustments aim to secure supply-chain resilience ahead of full 24-hour economy implementation.
