NINERS Chemnitz (BBL) signed 25-year-old American 196cm guard John Newman III (college: Cincinnati) for the upcoming season. He last played for House of Talents Kortrijk Spurs in the Belgian Pro Basketball League, averaging 8.6ppg and 4.4rpg in 7 games. Newman also played 30 games in the BNXT League, where he posted 11.1ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.5apg, and 1.5spg. He helped his team reach the semifinals and finish the regular season in second place.
Newman was voted to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team in 2024 during his college career.
He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2024 and it'll be his second season in pro basketball. Newman played for Clemson University for 3 years.
