A gas explosion at Tasiu Gas Plant in Sabon Wuse, Tafa Local Council of Niger State, has destroyed 550 bags of beans, six bags of soya beans, and a vehicle.
The incident occurred on Saturday, February 8, at about 11:00 p.m., near Kalasma Filling Station along Kaduna Expressway.

The Guardian learnt that the explosion resulted from the transloading of gas from one tanker to another surface tanker. Both the trailer and the gas plant caught fire, according to a statement by the Director General of Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Arah.

Arah disclosed that a car belonging to one Abubakar Yakubu, parked near the plant, was destroyed in the fire. Also, Ngeil Grains Processing Factory, located behind the gas plant, suffered significant losses, with 550 bags of beans and six bags of soya beans consumed in the blaze. Arah, however, confirmed that no lives were lost and the fire had been brought under control.
