Gale-force winds have disrupted ferry services in the Aegean Sea.
Port authorities announced that the Ekaterini P, part of the Fast Ferries fleet, was scheduled to depart from Piraeus Port at 2.45 p.m. for the islands of Serifos, Sifnos, Kimolos, Folegandros, Sikinos, Ios, and Santorini, but the trip has been cancelled. Tuesday’s return journey from Santorini, scheduled for 8.30 a.m., has also been called off.
In addition, adverse weather conditions have disrupted the operations of Seajets catamaran vessels Super Jet and Champion Jet to the Cyclades islands, authorities said.
A travel ban has been imposed from the ports of Rafina and Lavrio, east of Athens.
Services to the Saronic islands remain unaffected.
Passengers are advised to contact local port authorities or ticket agencies for updates regarding their travel plans.
