Foundation restores vision, gives joy to Ogun communities

Published 19 hours ago2 minute read

In its continued commitment to improving the lives of persons in underprivileged communities, Sparkle Foundation recently held two impactful events at Abigi Town Hall, Ijebu Waterside, Ogun State. The twin initiatives brought much-needed healthcare and celebration to both the young and old, spreading hope and joy across the communities of Ita-Ogun, Ibiade, Efire, and Abigi.

On May 24, 2025, Sparkle Foundation, in collaboration with Precious Sight, hosted a free eye screening outreach at Abigi Town Hall. The event provided eye care services to over 224 individuals, offering testing, diagnoses, and treatment. Many received eye-drops and free prescription glasses, helping them regain clearer vision. The outreach focused on both the elderly and children, ensuring that no one was left behind.

Following closely on the heels of the eye care initiative was the Sparkle Foundation’s Annual Smiley Faces Children’s Day event. This special day brought together approximately 200 children from various communities across Ijebu Waterside.

The event was a vibrant celebration of childhood, designed to make every child feel included, valued, and special. It was a sight to behold as the faces of these young children, many of whom have never had such an opportunity, lit up with unbridled joy and happiness. The day was brimming with exciting activities, including a captivating cultural dance display by the children themselves, lively dance competitions, and an engaging debate competition.

Every participant was a winner, receiving prizes, gifts, and valuable educational materials that will support their learning journey.

Sparkle Foundation emphasises the importance of making kids feel included, recognising that a strong sense of belonging is crucial for their growth and educational success. When children feel seen, they are more likely to thrive both academically and socially, empowering them to learn, dream, and reach their full potential.

These events reflect the Foundation’s mission to support health, education, and the emotional well-being of vulnerable populations. As Sparkle continues its outreach, the hope remains strong: to light up more lives, one smile and one clear vision at a time.
