Tragedy struck in Itierio area, Kisii County, as a four-storey building under construction collapsed, resulting in the confirmed deaths of five individuals. The unexpected collapse buried construction workers and nearby residents under the rubble.

Emergency response teams, comprised of the police and Kisii County Government personnel, were promptly dispatched to the scene to conduct rescue operations. Victims were extricated from the debris and rushed to hospitals in Suneka and Kisii town for urgent medical attention. Sadly, one of the victims passed away while being transported to the hospital, and another was found deceased under the wreckage.
