First time an Extreme Cold Warning was issued for parts of Pennsylvania

ALTOONA, PA. (WTAJ) — The surrounding National Weather Service Offices have extended an Extreme Cold Warning for parts of our viewing area, mainly within The Laurel Highlands.

This is the first time The National Weather Service out of State College has issued the new weather headline.

The warning goes into effect at 1 a.m. Tuesday and will expire at 12 p.m. Wednesday.

Dangerously could wind chills could reach as low as -25 degrees through the period.

If you must go outside, dress in layers. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia.
