FG warns Nigerians about fake CDCFIB recruitment letter on social media

The Federal Government has issued a warning to Nigerians regarding a fraudulent recruitment letter circulating on social media, urging job seekers to exercise caution and avoid falling victim to scammers.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) clarified that while Presidential approval has been granted for recruitment into the four paramilitary services under its supervision, the actual recruitment process has not yet commenced.

The Board’s Secretary, AM Jibril, said that all legitimate recruitment announcements would be made through national newspapers and other verified platforms. He also reiterated that no fees would be required at any stage of the process.

“The attention of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has been drawn to a letter in circulation on social media with respect to its recruitment process,” the statement read.

“It is important to inform the general public that, though there is Presidential approval for the recruitment of personnel in the four paramilitary services under its purview, there are a series of processes which lead to the actual recruitment exercise.

“The Board wishes to reiterate that for all its recruitment processes, appropriate notifications will be made via adverts in the national dailies, and the process will be carried out fairly and transparently, with no payment of any fee.”

The Board urged Nigerians to disregard the fake letter and remain vigilant against fraudulent recruitment schemes.

“To this effect, members of the public should be wary of recruitment racketeers who may try to take advantage of unsuspecting job seekers to rob them of their hard-earned resources,” the statement concluded.

Authorities have advised job seekers to verify any recruitment information through official government channels to avoid falling prey to scams.
