Farrah Abraham Is Dating and 'Open' to Marriage With the Right Person | In Touch Weekly
Former Teen Mom star revealed that she “loves dating” while dishing about her romantic life, telling In Touch exclusively that she is “open” to marriage with the right person.
“You know I still date,” the MTV alum reveals, noting she made an effort to put her best foot forward. “I am so passionate about dating. I even did a 12-step dating program to get me back out there.”
When asked if she wants to expand her family in the future, Farrah, 33, tells In Touch she can’t “commit” to saying she would love to have more children, especially after the tragic death of daughter Sophia’s dad, Derek Underwood, more than a decade ago.
Derek died in a car accident just two months before Sophia was born in February 2009.
“Sophia’s dad passed away when I was pregnant with her. And I think, you know, I can plan on having, like, a wedding, a marriage, all these things, and then it doesn’t happen,” the reality alum further explains, adding, “So, I’m really about just, like, letting be and letting God in my life.”
The former couple dated on and off for two years, but hadn’t spoken for four months prior to his death. Farrah, however, has always maintained that Derek would have been a doting dad.
“If, you know, the right person supports me, then cool. I would say like my last couple of boyfriends who you know wanted to get married and wanted to do life together, they actually were not supportive of my comedy career,” Farrah reveals to In Touch. “And I just eventually said, ‘Cool. I’m going to just start my comedy career.’”
Farrah is set to take the stage as a stand-up comedian for the premiere of her new “Diary of a Teen Mom” comedy show held at the Spearmint Rhino New York on March 13.
“This is something that I know I need to do. And if guys can’t be down with that, then they’re not the right husband for me,” she tells In Touch. “So, I’ve never really been one to settle just to have a family in a life and appease myself.”
“So yeah, whoever I get married to, whoever I do end up having more kids with, that’ll be someone who is very cool, very respectful of women, and super supportive,” she concludes. “So, yeah, if I find that person, I cannot wait to share that person with the world.”
The 16 and Pregnant alum, who also appeared on Teen Mom and Teen Mom OG, revealed that some MTV producers and former costars will be stopping by her comedy gig to show support.
Farrah’s daughter, Sophia, recently turned 16 on February 23 and she previously told In Touch that Sophia opted for a trip to Cologne, Germany, instead of a local party.
“Many people recognize Sophia for her style, which is kind of like goth, emo, punk, or yeah,” Farrah told In Touch prior to the trip. “So yeah, she wants to go see a historic kind of cathedral and bridge that’s there and do photo shoots and have fun and enjoy new culture.”
