THE EDITOR, Madam:
I write to propose the establishment of a Jamaican product hub – a physical location to be developed and operated by Jamaicans and a relevant government body – to expand Jamaica’s export market and strengthen its trade presence internationally. This hub would ensure authentic Jamaican products are widely available while directly benefiting local businesses and farmers.
A detailed proposal outlining how this initiative can contribute to Jamaica’s economic growth would include the following key objectives:
. Establishing a certified Jamaican Seal, overseen by the Bureau of Standards Jamaica, to verify authenticity and maintain quality standards.
. Enhancing export infrastructure and supply chains to improve market presence in key diaspora cities.
. Supporting small businesses in accessing international markets.
. Integrating e-commerce solutions, including an official Amazon Canada store, to complement physical hubs and streamline distribution.
