ESPN analyst says Suns may be best option for Chris Paul

Published 15 hours ago2 minute read

He has been a staple of the National Basketball Association for 20 seasons.

Chris Paul, 40, is a future first ballot Hall of Famer in the NBA. The 15-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA selection, nine-time All-NBA Defensive Team selection, and marquee point guard for assists and steals enters his 21st season in the fall.

Paul, a member of the 75th NBA Anniversary Team, has played on seven teams in his tenure, but where is his next stop?

He’s helped mentor superstars such as James Harden, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Devin Booker, and Victor Wembanyama; however, Paul believes he has a little more juice left in the tank. ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne says “CP3” could return to the Phoenix Suns, reuniting with Booker in the backcourt. Phoenix needs leadership with Mike Budenholzer and Kevin Durant out.

“I still think that is the most likely spot he ends up in,” Shelburne said about Paul in Phoenix. “Devin Booker loved him and they had a great thing going. What have we said for the past two years? They lack leadership. Well, you have one of the best leaders out there.”

In three seasons (2020-22) with the Suns, Paul averaged 16.4, 14.7, and 13.9 points per game.

We shall see if the “Point God” returns to the desert.
