Aoko’s two grandchildren had an outstanding school fees balance of KSh 245,000, which she was unable to clear.
In a touching display of love and determination, Aoko had accompanied her grandchildren to school carrying six chickens as payment, hoping to settle part of the fees.
Photos of Aoko and the grandchildren sitting at the school administration block while a man inspected the chickens circulated widely on social media, capturing the hearts of many Kenyans.
Inspired by the story, Eric took it upon himself to raise funds to ease the family’s financial burden.
In a heartfelt video, the comedian was seen embracing Aoko and her grandchildren before accompanying them to a KCB bank branch in Kendu Bay.
There, he revealed that they had raised over KSh 800,000 in support.
Eric shared that KSh 600,000 of the funds would be saved in Aoko’s account to cover future college fees for the grandchildren once they complete high school.

The remaining amount was designated to help Aoko start a small fish business, providing her with a sustainable source of income.
In the video, the cash was visibly placed on a table as Aoko and Eric thanked the fans and supporters who contributed to the fundraiser. Eric captioned the post:
"Team Sisi Kwa Sisi God bless you🙏. We raised over KSh 800,000. All school requirements are sorted tumefungulia Mum account tukamwekea 600K to support the Children’s College na yeye anafungua biashara ya Samaki. GOD bless."
Overwhelmed by the support, Aoko expressed her gratitude both to Eric Omondi and to God for the assistance she received.
"I'm so glad. What has happened here is God's will. Thank you Eric Omondi. God bless you," she said with heartfelt appreciation.
