One of the most popular physical activities for both adults and children to do together is walking.

The best thing about walking is that simply taking a casual stroll down the street can have numerous health advantages you were unaware of.

In a recent Instagram post by entrepreneur fitness coach Dan Go, he revealed that, "Running can increase appetite while walking doesn't. This is crucial to controlling what you eat. It's gentler on your joints, reducing injury risk and allowing for more frequent, longer sessions.

"Walking after meals suppresses insulin spikes, preventing fat storage and obesity. You'll burn more fat over time, as walking can be sustained for longer periods without exhaustion."

He went on to say in a text post explaining the benefits of walking, Gostated, "If you're stressed, go for a walk. If you want to burn fat, go for a walk. If you want to live long, go for a walk. If you want to be creative, go for a walk. If you want to solve a problem, go for a walk," and "if you want to be a better person for a walk."

According to the fitness coach, there is no best time to go for a walk; instead, you should do it whenever you feel like. He suggests going for a "Walk after a meal. Walk when you're bored. Walk when you're stressed. Walk between your sets. Walk in the morning. Walk at night."

The National Health Service (NHS) explains that you do not have to walk for hours.

"A brisk 10-minute daily walk has lots of health benefits and counts towards your 150 minutes of weekly exercise, as recommended in the physical activity guidelines for adults aged 19 to 64," states the NHS.

On the other hand, Go also suggests similar tips. He stated on his Instagram post that, "You're always a 15-minute walk away from a better mood."
