Eko Mi awards set for Eko Best 11 edition
Plans are afoot for the second Eko Mi Awards, which celebrates the extraordinary contributions of individuals, groups and organisations to the growth and development of Lagos State.
With this year’s theme as ‘Eko Best 11’, the event which is set to hold on Thursday, June 19, at the Radisson Blu Hotels, in Ikeja GRA, will honour prominent Nigerians, who are adding value in different sectors.
According to Otunba Bestman Nze Jumbo, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Image Expression, publisher of Eko Mi, Eko E Newspaper and the organiser of Eko Mi Awards, this edition isn’t just another event.
“It’s a salute to legacy, leadership, and the relentless Lagos spirit. We’re celebrating pioneers, disruptors, and legends who have redefined what is possible and powered the pulse of Lagos,” he said.
He stated that prominent Nigerians in Lagos, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Obafemi Hamzat; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, his wife Awele Elumelu; Jim Ovia, Femi Otedola, Cosmas Maduka, Ibukun Awosika, Leo Stan Ekeh, Pastors Tony Rapu, Sam Adeyemi, Chris Oyakhilome and others, who are adding value in different sectors, have been listed as possible recipients of the awards.
Nze-Jumbo noted that only 11 personalities will make the Best Eko 11 at the event, which is gaining momentum across the Lagos metropolis.
