Amos Khaemba, a journalist at TUKO.co.ke, brings over three years of experience covering politics and current affairs in Kenya.

- Senator Edwin Sifuna is unmoved over claims he was working for former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

On Saturday, February 22, Makadara MP George Aladwa accused Sifuna of advancing Gachagua's agenda.

Aladwa warned Sifuna that he would be chased out of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party the same way Ababu Namwamba was chased away.

''I want to warn Sifuna who refers to himself as the Secretary General of ODM that we have had many SGs who were way powerful like Ababu Namwamba and the rest. Even him, he will go the way Ababu did,'' Aladwa said.

However, Sifuna has taken to social media to celebrate seven years of being the secretary general of the Orange Party.

In a tweet, Sifuna explained why it's never hard for one to serve as ODM party SG, provided the blueprint left by late senate Otieno Kajwang is followed.

In an indirect attack on his critics, Sifuna said he is always guided by key values of loyalty, fidelity and faithfulness to the Raila Odinga-led party.

"Time does fly when you are having fun. It’s 7 years to the day today! It's very easy to be SG of ODM. You just need to follow the blueprint left by Gerald Otieno Kajwang. Loyalty. Fidelity. Faithfulness. Easy as ABC," Sifuna said.

Meanwhile, Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has dismissed claims of division in the ODM party.

Kaluma stated the two camps have emerged in ODM because of the upcoming 2027 General Election.

The outspoken lawmaker explained that one camp wants to support Gachagua's camp, while the other camp is in support of President William Ruto's reelection.

"One side believes ODM should enter into coalition with Gachagua led coalition consisting of Gachagua, Kalonzo, Eugine Wamalwa, Natembeya, Matiang’i - to remove President William Ruto from power and enable Gachagua have his revenge against Ruto.
"The other side believes politics is much more than the pursuit of revenge and that Gachagua is a tribalist recently impeached for preaching ethnic and regional exclusion of Kenyans, especially members of ODM Party," Kaluma said.
