E-Commerce Council of the Philippines Expresses Full Support for DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque

Manila, Philippines – The E-Commerce Promotions Council of the Philippines, established by the IRR of Republic Act 11967, expressed its unwavering support and deep appreciation for the continued leadership of Secretary Cristina A. Roque at the helm of the Department of Trade and Industry.

In a formal letter delivered today, the Council recognized Secretary Roque’s brave and principled stance in response to recent political developments and commended President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for his decision to retain her as Secretary. “This affirmation reflects not only the administration’s confidence in her stewardship but also underscores the importance of continuity in our country’s digital and economic transformation,” the statement reads.

The Council also acknowledged Secretary Roque’s instrumental role in establishing the E-Commerce Council and her commitment to inclusive, stakeholder-driven policymaking. “Her vision laid the groundwork for a secure, dynamic, and inclusive digital economy. We stand united with her in realizing this shared vision,” said Rafael G. Canare, President of the E-Commerce Promotions Council.

With ongoing efforts to advance the Philippines’ digital competitiveness and empower MSMEs through trustworthy digital infrastructure, the Council emphasized its continued collaboration with DTI under Secretary Roque’s leadership.
