Duke Hudson's WWE Release: A Heartfelt Send-Off from a Former Tag Partner | WWE News - The Times of India
Duke Hudson's WWE exit has enthused the wrestling world, but his former tag partner, Andre Chase, took some time to credit him. After Hudson's heartfelt self-interview dissecting his release, Chase went to social media to thank Hudson for their time working together. He offered a touching tribute to Hudson's loyalty to Chase U and their success as NXT Tag Team Champions. While Hudson's goodbye could be considered a setback for WWE, and his future is still uncertain, he has the backing of many who stepped into the ring alongside him.
Andre Chase tweeted a heartfelt thank-you to Duke Hudson for being his tag partner and all his contributions to Chase U after Hudson was released from WWE.
Chase stated: “I just wanted to publicly thank Duke Hudson for all of his hard work and contributions to Chase U,” Chase wrote. “From the poker table to the classroom, to the tag-team Match of the Year, all the way to the top as champions in WWE.”
This heartfelt message came after Hudson's introspective video, wherein he entered a period of self-reflective honesty about his time in WWE. During the self-interview, Hudson admitted things truly didn't go how they were planned but insisted, however, that he doesn't consider himself to have failed. Speaking of his release, he bluntly added, "You weren't part of a group with 'budget cuts,' right? So this was more of a 'we hate you.'" An inner voice was pointing out contrastingly how people such as Bron Breakker and Rhea Ripley have become big in WWE while he was finding it hard to stand up. But even so, Hudson stayed optimistic by claiming he could very well be happy for his friends while being disappointed over his shortcomings.
Hudson's WWE days had a quiet exit in January; with reports stating that Triple H did not see Hudson as a main roster star. Winning the NXT Tag Team Championship with Chase in 2023 was not enough to establish his place in the company. His character was revamped many times, with the general timeline being a poker-playing guy, a serious competitor, but it never really got his feet running. Though on his way out, Hudson had all the talent in the world, the charisma, and perhaps a reasonable chance of telling a good story somewhere else.
As Hudson ponders his next move, the certainty is that with the support of Chase and the fans, he still has his story to tell in wrestling. Whether that be in different wrestling promotions, through an independent reinvention, or even a new life story, are all still possibilities.
Duke Hudson may have closed the WWE chapter of his career, but wrestling is his passion. His self-interview indicates that he has some unfinished business, and fans are now left wondering about what's to come. Could AEW, perhaps Impacts Wrestling, or a new persona in NXT be in the cards for Hudson? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, a touching message from Andre Chase signifies Hudson won't be forgotten. WWE may not have taken full advantage of his promise, but he has a gift and a spirit that makes it likely he will find another road. What do you think? Did Hudson deserve better in WWE, or was his release inevitable? Please let us know your thoughts in the comments!
