Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s political party and accused him of plotting division in the country.
The CS who was speaking during a cultural festival in Garissa on Saturday, May 17, 2025, claimed that the former DP’s intention is to balkanize and divide Kenyans for his own political gain.
He fiercely defended his boss President William Ruto saying his only offense was affirming his commitment to uniting Kenyans and dividing development across the nation.
Additionally, the health CS went on to claim that Ruto enjoys an overwhelming amount of support in the North Eastern region.
In particular, he alluded that pastoral communities in 14 counties will support him in the upcoming election; he added that despite individuals competing for the top seat job, they will come together to secure Ruto’s presidency.
“We are seeing people forming ethnic-based parties to balkanize and divide our people. Today we have people of different ethnic groups performing here, and that is the Kenya we want,” he noted.

“The President is uniting the people of Kenya by dividing development so that we have one indivisible nation, no matter where you are coming from.”
Adding;
“The President is uniting the people of Kenya, dividing the development so that we have one indivisible nation where religion and the county you come from doesn’t matter,” he added.
While hailing Ruto’s governance, Duale continued by noting that the Kenya Kwanza administration has been the first and only to initiate the tarmacking of roads from Isiolo to Mandera.
He argued that other regimes snobbed development in the region.
“Ruto is the only President who spent a night in Mandera, today youths are getting IDs without them being asked any question, we have got independence with this government,” the health CS added.
Gachagua unveiled the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) in a cheerful event held on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
At the event, the former DP was named the party leader while Cleophas Malala was named the deputy party leader.

Issuing a statement at the launch, Gachagua affirmed his commitment to listening to the people, emphasizing that leaders must always prioritize the voice of the citizens.
“We believe as a party that every Kenyan must be listened to by their leaders. This listening must not just be listening for the sake of it,” he said.
