From Jeremy "The Impact" York:
Deep South Wrestling presented their second big New Realm show of the year in front of a capacity crowd of 475+! As the outside temperatures rise, so do the great talented wrestlers of DSW!
Match 1: Dax Anthony (w/ “Hollywood” Hunter James) VS Najasism—Naja came to the ring in no mood to show his normal swagger and proceeded to take it out on Dax early! Swift, snap, aggression had “the greatest, the baddest, the best” taking charge, looking for the early pin. Dax (with help from James) found a swing of momentum in his favor utilizing a picturesque lLonsault that garnered a close two-count. Shortly thereafter James was given the gate for getting a little too close to the action leaving Anthony solo to receive a Spanish fly from his opponent. Naja’s mean streak peaked just in time to lock on the Sharpest Shooter submission that a passed out Anthony could not answer the bell for! Winner: Najasism via submission
Match 2: Ryan Rembrandt (S.I.N.) vs Cosmos Martinez—Classic match up of the quickness and high flying Cosmos against the cerebral control and power of Rembrandt. Ryan took the reins at the jump, keeping the luchadore grounded as much as possible. Then Martinez found his chance and rebounded, flooring his foe with a mesmerizing arial display that delighted the patrons of New Realm. Justin as the crowd was preparing to celebrate another Cosmos victory, a returning Luka Daniels interfered, ultimately handing the win to Rembrandt. Winner: Ryan Rembradt via pinfall.
*After the match, Luka waived off Rembrandt in order to take out Cosmos like he did before his own injury months ago. Cosmos however reversed the attack, giving Daniels the slip and exiting through the crowd to avoid further Luka attacks.
*Eric Adamz in the ring with two major announcements: there will be a New Realm title (think TV title only defended at New Realm) AND a Women’s title arriving in the coming months.
*Then Austin Towers came to the ring to confront Adamz for his part in Towers and Jay “Alpha” Miller’s tag team title loss in March. Fisticuffs ensue as 1/2 the locker room empty to help keep these two apart.
Once the dust settled somewhat, a representative of the Georgia Wrestling Commissioner’s Office grabbed a mic to tell Adamz that: 1) he is not an active wrestler, b) he is listed as the matchmaker of DSW, and 3) he cannot occupy both positions in DSW. He also warned Eric that this is the second warning and the third will result in bad consequences.
Match 3: Duncan M.A., Cuatro Cabezas VS Professor Pain, “Boozerweight” Matt Sells (w/ 40oz C-Dub)—Professor and Cuatro start it out jockeying for control throwing arm drags and more to gain advantage. Pain gets the upper hand then tags in the Boozerweight. Sells with the “Matt Classics” we all know and love before tagging the Professor back in. Reversal of momentum gives Duncan a chance to get in the match. His dastardly devious tactics had him being showered with boos while he enjoyed beating down his opponents. Effective tags between Cuatro and Duncan kept Pain in (well) a lot of pain as they used controlling holds to force the masked man to stay on the mat. Finally, fueled by his many rabid fans, Professor made the tag to Sells who evened the odds. The end of this one saw Duncan trying to coerce Cuatro into being devious only to have convince him otherwise. Winners: Professor Pain, “Boozerweight” Matt Sells vis pinfall
Match 4: Island Girl TT VS “The AP” Audrey Allen—What a technical, chain-based clinic these two gave the fans! For every Island Girl arm drag, it was met with a headlock takeover by Audrey only to be countered into a leg scissors from TT. Back and forth these women battled as the crowd was torn between who to cheer for, yet not one fam booed either competitor! In the end it was the experience of Island Girl TT that aided in the victory over “The AP”. Mutual respect handshake post match from each woman to the other. Winner: Island Girl TT via pinfall
*Najasism in the ring to call out CT Entertainment (S.I.N.) for his recent behavior. The two get a little heated then Apollo Prince (S.I.N.) rushes down to order his disciple CT to the back.
Match 5: “Hollywood” Hunter James (w/ Dax Anthony) VS “Cowboy” James Storm—Not the co-main we were originally told about but wow was it the one we needed! The young, hungry Hunter versus the wily, cunning Storm. Cowboy with the quick jump using his experience to keep Hunter on his heels. Crowd clearly behind Storm as he got the best of Hollywood from pillar to post with Hunter just missing catching an early “Last Call” to the chops before ducking out of the ring into the arms of Anthony. This break was just what Hollywood needed as he gained the upper hand with some help from Anthony on the outside. However, just as Dax looked to further his antics, the referee caught him in the act and one spectacular ejection later, Anthony was sent packing from the ringside area! A brief time later Hunter was distraught and in the face of the official only to spin around and catch a “Last Call” super kick to the mush! 3 count later and Storm had another win! Winner: “Cowboy” James Storm via pinfall
Match 6: Main Event: Stunt Marshall, DJ Smoke (c) VS CT Entertainment, Apollo Prince (S.I.N.) (for the DSW Tag Team Championships)—Strength In Numbers (CT, Apollo, Rembrandt, Jay “Alpha” Miller) has been really making waves over the last few New Realm shows and looked to add titles to their group resume. Only problem is the inaugural champs of Marshall and Smoke were ready to fight! The speed of Smoke in addition to the power and force that is Stunt had half of the power faction reeling early. Some disagreements as to how to properly beat down the champs led to miscommunications from the challengers, furthering the champions efforts. S.I.N. would create their own advantage and punished Smoke with power maneuvers that all but put DJ down for the count. The crowd really got behind the champs and willed Smoke to tag Stunt. The house of fire Marshall motored around the ring, smashing through CT and Apollo. The final disagreement between challengers resulted in CT taking out Apollo and rolling out of the ring just in time for the double-stacked moves and the “All The Smoke” frog splash for the title-retaining 1-2-3! Winners (and still): Stunt Marshall, DJ Smoke Takeaway:
Another stellar show from Deep South at New Realm. Crowd wise they have almost recovered from the Winter break and numbers are rising. So many fun questions to debate after this show:
Did CT leave S.I.N.? How does this affect Najasism and his darker mood?
Is Apollo still #1 contender to Jacob Johnson’s title?
Who is the next Team to face Stunt and Smoke?
After great performances, how will Audrey Allen and Island Girl TT play into the new Women’s title picture? How does Gemma Jewels factor in?
What will the New Realm title bring?
So many more that should have any wrestling fan (or Greenbelt runner) chomping at the bit for the May 4th show to get here as soon as possible.
