Dry, sunny stretch continues through end of the week before next system arrives
(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Another cold one out there tonight! Lows will fall into the teens in the mountains, with 20s everywhere else.
Our dry, sunny stretch continues through the rest of the week, but with temperatures getting back to a typical level for this time of year. The normal high in Charlotte is 52 right now, and we’ll be near that through Friday.

With this moderation in temperatures and our next system moving in this weekend, it means mostly rain for our area over the weekend. However, with the typical colder spots in the mountains, it will likely start with a wintry mix Saturday morning, and end with a little more snow by Sunday. In between, it’s rain showers Saturday morning through mainly early afternoon.
It won’t be a total weekend washout — we’ll get some dry time into Sunday, but a few showers will still be possible. As the low pressure system moves out, we may even squeeze out some snowflakes around the Charlotte area by Sunday night! It won’t add up to much, if you see it at all.
Next week, plan for more COLD. Likely the coldest of the season so far. We’re expecting highs in the 30s starting Monday, with lows in the teens starting Tuesday morning. This bitter Arctic air could be in place for several days.
At the same time, the pattern will remain an active one. This could mean more snow or ice chances throughout the region by the middle and/or end of next week. Something we’re watching! Keep checking in for updates on Queen City News.
Clear and frigid. Low 24.
