Dr. Akiyode-Afolabi becomes Acting Director of Safeguarding Center, Unilag
The University of Lagos has appointed, Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, an expert from the department of Public Law and a Human Rights specialist as the pioneering Acting Director of its newly established Safeguarding Center.
The Safeguarding Centre is dedicated to creating a secure and supportive environment for students, staff and visitors of the school.
In her new role, Dr. Akiyode-Afolabi will spearhead efforts to develop and implement policies, establish robust frameworks, and foster a culture of vigilance and accountability on safeguarding issues.
With her expertise in human rights in and proven track record, Dr. Akiyode- Afolabi is well positioned to drive this critical initiative forward, ensuring the well- being and safety of students, staff, and visitors alike.
She currently serves as Dean of the School of Policy, Politics, and Governance (SPPG) and is a founding member and leader of the Lagos #BringBackOurGirls movement.
