President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful to use this period of Holy month of Ramadan to bless the country and pray for its continued peace, unity and prosperity.

Tinubu said peace and unity are necessary for progress and prosperity to take place as well as the sustenance, urging Nigerians not to relent in asking God to strengthen the hands of the nation’s leaders on good works that will usher in prosperity.

The President spoke in Ayetoro, the Headquarters of Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State during special Ramadan Tafsir and Iftar on Sunday evening, where special prayers were offered for him, Nigeria and Salako family in Ayetoro as well as the departed souls.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, represented President Tinubu during the Ramadan Tafsir and Iftar prayer organised by Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, who lost his nonagenarian month recently.

The President noted that regardless of the age at which one loses one’s parents, the experience is always painful and prayed the Almighty God to grant the Salako family the fortitude to bear the loss, even as prayed for the peaceful response of the souls of the departed.

He urged the Minister to take solace in the quality of the upbringing from his late parents (Yunus Akande Omotosho Salako, the first convert to Ahmadiyya sect in Ayetoro and wife, late Anike Salako), saying those qualities would continue to be a source relief and bulwark for him in the period ahead.

Dr. Salako lauded President Tinubu for his “fatherly role” and being deeply involved in the burial of his late mother as well as sending the Coordinating Minister Ali Pate to represent him at the special Ramadan Tafsir and Iftar in Ayetoro.

Salako also hailed Pate for always exhibiting team spirit in his leadership style at the ministry of health and social service, saying those qualities have continued to engender smooth working environment and the attendant high productivity.

He commended the Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who represented Governor Dapo Abiodun, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Abiodun Akinlade and a host of others who graced the event and donated generously towards the rebuilding of the community mosque
