Manchester United suffered their 11th defeat of the Premier League campaign following a 2-0 loss against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils had a disappointing opening half against the Eagles. They failed to register a single shot on target and hit the woodwork once.
The second half had a similar theme, and Palace eventually broke the deadlock through Jean-Philippe Mateta in the 64th minute of the game.
Mateta went on to seal the win for the London outfit before stoppage time. Harry Maguire was guilty of playing him onside on both occasions.
Maguire had a forgettable outing in the heart of the defence, but we were most disappointed with Diogo Dalot, who started from left wing-back.
The Portugal international has been a regular in the position this campaign, but his performances have been underwhelming on most occasions.
Dalot scored an important goal in midweek against FSCB, but he was non-existent as an attacking force versus Palace and was poor in possession.
The 25-year-old had a passing accuracy of 80 percent. He lost 10 out of 15 duels against the Eagles while losing possession an astonishing 22 times.
Dalot completed just one out of four dribbles with one long ball. It was a forgettable game for him. He received a 4/10 rating from Manchester Evening News.
In our view, the full-back must be dropped to the bench when United face Leicester City in the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford on Friday night.
United have just signed Patrick Dorgu for the left wing-back role. He played regularly for Lecce and should be involved in training sessions this week.
With Dalot’s pale form, we won’t be surprised if the Dane makes his full debut against the Foxes.
