In the June 5 episode of Days, Cat was surprised by a framed photo at Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) townhouse.

When Cat noticed Sami’s face, she remarked to Tate Black (Leo Howard) that the woman in the picture seemed quite familiar. This revelation caught Tate off guard, as he recognized the woman as Aunt Sami and questioned whether Cat was acquainted with her.

After Cat examined the photo more closely, she confessed that she didn’t believe she knew her. Ultimately, Cat concluded that perhaps Sami simply reminded her of someone else – although she couldn’t quite identify who.

Nonetheless, there was an enigmatic melody accompanying Cat’s unusual response to that picture; it’s evident that there’s a deeper narrative at play.

The writers are presenting an intriguing conundrum now that Cat has experienced this moment of recognition. Cat truly appears to be at a loss regarding her familiarity with Sami, yet there has to be a link.

It would be absurd for DOOL to have Cat respond in such a manner to Sami’s image without justification! This appears to be a scenario where Cat and Sami encountered each other in the past and just need a little more prompting to recall it.

Sami and Cat clearly weren’t very close; otherwise, Cat would have complete recall at this moment-it seems that something specific occurred with Sami – something that Cat hasn’t remembered yet.

Did Sami somehow influence Cat’s accident, or could she have crossed paths with Cat afterward? Perhaps Days could alter the narrative so that Cat recuperated at the same clinic where Sami kept an eye on EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) during his own recovery.

It doesn’t matter if the timeline aligns perfectly or not if that’s the story the show wishes to convey. Sami might have shown injured Cat some compassion during a tough time or something similar.

On another note, Sami tends to attract drama, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Cat’s future recollection of her is filled with tension. There could be a past event where Cat wronged Sami, or perhaps it was the other way around.

Regardless, it’s logical for Sami and Cat to have some kind of connection. Ultimately, Cat will find herself in a love triangle involving EJ and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), making it wise to link her to EJ’s ex-wife and create some conflict.
