Some of the best polo stars from across the country are expected to assemble at the Kaduna Polo Club, tomorrow, to battle for laurels in honour of fallen star, Dawule Baba, who passed on recently in Egypt.

  Christened ‘Dawule Baba Memorial Tournament, the event will be held from tomorrow to June 15, at the Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna, with teams vying for honours in three broad categories .

  Until his death, the Nigerian polo ambassador was a member of the board of trustees of the foremost club. Apart from the high-goal, medium-goal, and low-goal categories, the event would also feature matches in the Beginners’ category and the veterans’ games that would see polo patrons, particularly those who played alongside Dawule in his heydays, as the master of the game.

  In a multi-media release by the Kaduna Polo Club’s Tournament Committee, the four-day event, which will feature mostly Kaduna-based teams and players, is open to teams and players across the country who would want to participate in the memorial polo tourney.
