flies into theaters on July 11, and marketing is now reaching for the stars, with several trailers, TV spots, toy lines, and interviews with the cast and crew being rolled out in the lead up to the highly anticipated reboot’s theatrical landing.

It stars David Corenswet (Twisters) as Clark Kent/Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (Nosferatu) as Lex Luthor.

Set to usher in a new era of DC Universe (DCU) movies, with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow arriving next year and, soon after, a Batman reboot titled The Brave and the Bold (TBA), Superman (2025) also brings us the fourth iteration of the character in film.

Corenswet follows in the footsteps of the iconic Christopher Reeve, who starred in the original four Superman films (1978 — 1987), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), and more recently, Henry Cavill (the DCEU’s Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman, and Justice League).

Now, as Superman (2025) prepares to take flight at the box office, the Last Son of Krypton has been spotted in the London skyline (sorry, Metropolis), hovering right above The Shard.

We now know why all the marketing for the film has been using the phrase, “Look Up,” because a large figurine based on Corenswet’s Superman was suspended 1,000ft (300m) above ground level within the exposed spire of the U.K. capital’s tallest skyscraper on July 1.

The film’s director James Gunn, also DC Studios’ co-Chairman and co-CEO alongside Peter Safran, shared a tweet featuring photos of the impressive display:

Per The Shard.com, the one-day-only installation is “the highest-ever display of a public sculpture” in the country. The figure was visible from up to 40 miles away for an entire day (July 1) and was also on occasion circled by two Daily Planet-branded helicopters.

While the impressive statue, made from from fiberglass moulded in Eco Resin, has been 3D-scanned from Corenswet, it actually stands at 11ft (3.5m) tall and weighs 120kg (18st).

James Gunn said of the display, “To see such a realistic depiction of our Superman displayed on the top of The Shard is mind-blowing!”

Daniel Fulbrook, Head of Marketing for REM, asset manager of The Shard, said, “Superman has stood as a symbol of hope and heroism for generations — so it feels only fitting that he now watches over London from the top of one of its most iconic landmarks.”

“To see him suspended within The Shard’s spire is truly surreal. We’re incredibly proud to help bring this legendary figure to life in such a bold and breath-taking way.”

Actors David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult also made an appearance on The Shard’s highest platform beneath the sculpture.
