Should Deadpool and Wolverine have sequel movies?

According to an alleged Hollywood insider on X, Hugh Jackman is set to stay as Wolverine - even after the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. Jackman and Ryan Reynolds even want to make more Deadpool and Wolverine films together! Honestly, I’m not sure that I’m into that idea. The initial movie is easily breaking records and becoming a fan favorite because it’s hitting all the right callbacks for superhero fans who were watching Marvel movies in the mid 2000s. Marvel Studios can’t possibly ride that wave for too long - especially after all the cameos they’re going to use for Secret Wars. What do you think? Do Deadpool and Wolverine have enough material from the comics? What’s your take?

Is a Family Guy movie something you want to see?

Films based on irreverent adult-animated sitcoms are not unheard of and can be very lucrative endeavors. South Park capitalized on its own success early on in the series run with Bigger, Longer & Uncut, which today remains a beloved franchise offering among fans. The Simpsons movie was even more successful, and that came out during a time when people were starting to think the yellow family had nothing new or exciting left to offer viewers. Family Guy, admittedly, has one cinematic disadvantage compared to those other two shows; despite all three being thoroughly absurd, The Simpsons and South Park tend to focus around plot-heavy endeavors. Family Guy is known for just the opposite - its hardest-hitting moments often have nothing at all to do with the episodes they're placed in. This could make a feature-length version of the show difficult. There was a straight-to-video released in the mid-2000s to some degree of success - this movie was eventually split into three separate episodes a

What's your favorite horror movie that’s technically not a “horror” movie?

We’ve all been there - sitting on the couch, in the middle of an otherwise inconspicuous drama or otherwise child-friendly movie when all of a sudden, a certain sequence plays itself out that suddenly stops us from looking away - in the most terrifying of ways. For one reason or another, there’s many films out there like this - parading themselves in one genre when they actually can’t wait to terrify and traumatize the viewer. The two I remember the most are: The Wondrous Boat Ride in Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka, which is certainly a turn into dark-spirited despair and the buttons for eyes concept in Coraline (still gives me the shivers). Believe it or not, some say 1984’s Terminator or even more bizarre, 2019’s Uncut Gems….so what do you think? What’s your pick for not horror, but horror?

Give me an example of a perfect horror movie!

I was rewatching some of the Annabelle films the other day (don’t ask me why) - and maybe it’s because I knew what was coming - but after a while, the scares turned into laughter. Seeing a doll terrify people has just become a joke for me. I think I need to reboot my fear. What’s the most perfect horror movie that you can think of? A captivating story, great acting, a fake tone that pulls you in and a fearful entity that makes you wish the movie was over already? Not too much blood though. That makes me more squeamish than anything else. Let me know in the comments below - I’d love to see what you have to say.

First, Mr Popper’s Penguins. Then, The Penguin. Now, The Penguin Lessons. Am I missing anything?

These three movies have nothing to do with each other story wise. The first one is a theatrical adaptation of a children’s book. The second is a very popular DC Comics villain who also had a HBO/MAX miniseries. The third is a comedy drama based off of an underrated memoir that just made the rounds at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. Starring English-Irish actor Steve Coogan as a British teacher who adopts a penguin after a failed relationship, this heartwarming period piece looks to be the next in a short line of penguin pictures. The trailer is on YouTube thanks to Sony Pictures Classics. Will it be a hit or a miss for moviegoers? Write what you think in the comments below!

If a remake of Die Hard was made, who would play John McClane?

Whether it’s on streaming or in the theaters, every old school 90s franchise seems to be getting yet another chance in the spotlight these days. Bad Boys, Twisters, Beverly Hills Cop (latest one was in ‘94), Aliens (3 was in 1992), Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, Road House (off by a year) and so on and so forth. Suffice to say, I don’t think the nostalgic do-overs are going to stop anytime soon. With that being said though, the one franchise Hollywood hasn’t seemed to touch yet is Bruce Willis’ beloved action movie - Die Hard. It is such a shame that dementia has overtaken the actor and I hope he battles the disease with unrelenting bravery. If 20th Century Fox decides to make a modern adaptation in honor of Willis someday, who do you see playing tough and stubborn McClane? Without hesitation, I could see Taron Egerton getting the part since he did so well with the Kingman roles back in 2015 and 2017. What do you think?

Amazon now owns James Bond. What’s your reaction?

In a jaw-dropping announcement, long-time holders of the James Bond franchise - Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli - have dropped their custody battle with Amazon MGM and are letting the production and distribution company have their way (after paying more than a billion dollars!) Putting aside the financial buyout speculation and what it took to get to this point, people are already discussing the crazy number of ways Amazon is about to expand the 007 lore. New movies, new shows, spinoffs. Too many to count and most of them not hitting the mark. Think what Disney did to Star Wars - it could be the same thing here. What do you think? Is this going to be a great era for Bond fans or are we all doomed? Let me know in the comments below.

Benedict Cumberbatch is replacing Tom Hardy in an upcoming crime thriller. Can this work?

Jo Nesbo’s Blood on Snow was a novel released back in 2015 that centered around a hitman that was just as loving as he was cold - and this predicament brought him into bad places. Namely, he doesn’t kill the woman he’s hired to assassinate because he’s fallen for her. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Eva Green, Emma Laird and Ben Mendelsohn - the theatrical adaptation was also supposed to star Tom Hardy as a mob boss. Due to scheduling issues, he is being replaced by Benedict Cumberbatch. Hardy, I can see him as a mob boss, but Cumberbatch? I’m not too sure I can see him in such an intimidating role. What’s your opinion? Can you see the Sherlock and Doctor Strange star as a mob boss? Let me know below!

Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter - I’m so dumbfounded by the premise I might just watch.

First he was a werewolf in 2011’s and 2012’s Twilight movies, and now he’s a…werewolf hunter? Variety exclusively reported on February 12th that Taylor Lautner is set to produce and star in a Amazon MGM studios TV series called Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter. As you can see, this show is beyond bonkers right off the bat. We have Lautner playing himself - but at night, he gets recruited into a secret society and hunts down the supposed real version of what he was in the movies. It’s a bizarre clash of real life and fiction…which I’m kind of curious about. Don’t get me wrong, this sounds like only something the craziest minds would think of, but I also want to see how this series is going to show up on screen. What do you think? Are you in the mood for some werewolf Hollywood fantastical stories?

What are your wildest 'Yellowjackets' theories?

Season three of the survivalist thriller show just premiered, and we still don't know who the Antler Queen is. We also still don't know who the girls chased in the snow and eventually killed, as shown in the first season. The first two episodes skipped over the rest of the winter, despite season two ending with Coach burning the cabin down and leaving the girls out in the cold. The tensions between Shauna and Mari have escalated greatly, resulting in Mari being held prisoner by Coach away from the girls' camp. Mari is clearly going to have an even bigger role this season, and she may be the girl who was chased in the snow. Given Shauna's aggressive behavior and the way she is unfazed by constantly draining animals of their blood, it wouldn't be surprising if she was the Antler Queen. We want to know what your craziest fan theories are about this season of Yellowjackets.

Reacher has a spin-off show coming. No wait, it’s almost here. What do you think about this?

According to Collider, Frances Neagley from Alan Ritchson’s Reacher series has her own spin off. Not only that, but it’s been fast tracked to production and will begin filming today. According to some online investigators, Neagley is only in about twenty-five percent of the books, so there is a lot of space to expand her backstory, her present adventures, her friends, her enemies, etc. But in saying that one positive, people are also calling out her character’s popularity decline throughout the first two seasons of Reacher. I mean the actress - Maria Sten - is fine in the role. Don’t get me wrong, but I do believe the character needs some more development before we get a full-fledged series with her as the main character. Seems a little rushed, doesn’t it?

What are your first impressions of 'White Lotus' season 3?

The hit HBO show just returned this past Sunday after a little over two years since season two, and the first episode of the new season is already generating many conversations online. Season three moved the setting to a White Lotus resort in Thailand, subsequently changing the iconic theme song that season two made so popular. Aside from the theme song change, the new characters are bringing a whole new set of problems to the resort. The Ratliffs, a wealthy family of five from North Carolina, have already exhibited glaring red flags (the sibling dynamic is beyond concerning). Michelle Monaghan's Jaclyn is a celebrity who has brought her two best friends along with her on this vacation, but they all seem to secretly hate each other. The episode opens with a shooting that will take place later in the season, so tensions will only rise. What are your thoughts about the season premiere?

Does A Constantine 4K rerelease mean we are closer to Constantine 2?

Let’s face the facts. Movie studios don’t usually release something that everybody is demanding unless there is a behind-the-scenes warrant. For example - even though it was for a short time - Warner Brothers licensed the Beetlejuice cartoon out to numerous streaming services to help the sequel movie lengthen in movie theater popularity. Well, it seems like they’re doing the same thing for Keanu Reeves’ Constantine. On February 18th, WB released the 2005 movie in 4k for the first time. On top of that, they released an eight-minute teaser (with the 4k quality on YouTube). Does this mean Constantine 2 is currently in the works? In my opinion, I wouldn’t be surprised if the announcement is around the corner. What do you think?

Besides Matt Damon, have you taken a look at the stacked cast for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey?

A new photo is circulating online highlighting Matt Damon as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. . . but there’s something about this movie that I think a lot of people are overlooking - the cast is off the charts! We got Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, Sam Irwin - the list goes on. I know that this epic Greek tale has been done a thousand times by now, but I can’t wait to see well, anything - a teaser, a trailer, the actual movie even, haha! What do you think about Christopher Nolan’s next movie? The cast? Let me know in the comments below!

True Detective Season 5 will be set in a place I never imagined and I’m all for it.

Louisiana, California, Ozark Mountains, Alaska and now…New York! Wow, I never expected a True Detective type of story - the sort of crime that could be paranormal-related - to come to the Big Apple. HBO’s Head of Drama Series and Film Francesca Orsi confirmed it with Deadline during an interview. It’s even going to be connected with the previous season (Alaska and the characters therein). In my opinion - nothing has hit that epic climax of the first season but the prospect of being in New York (a mystery of this grandeur in a place with 8.2 million people)? Call me intrigued? What are your thoughts about this developing story detail in True Detective? Interested? Still want Harrelson and McConaughey to come back? Let me know everything in the comments below!

What's your wildest fan theory about Severance?

The long-awaited second season of Severance is now about halfway through, and it has been a whirlwind. After the explosive events of episode four, the fan theories have only become more elaborate. From theories about what the goats are really for to the meaning behind the water droplet in Lumen's logo, there's a ton of speculation among fans of the show. Many of us clocked Helly R. really being Helena from the first episode of the season. With that now officially confirmed, fans wonder if she was just obtaining intel about the innies, or if she was envious of her innie's connection with Mark S. Irving's outtie going through reintegration is also a popular theory, but what's yours?

What's a horror performance that should have been nominated at the Oscars?

The Academy has notoriously ignored the horror genre for the 97 years they have been hosting the ceremony. While some horror movies have received nominations over the years, they have mostly been in technical categories. Only six horror films have been nominated for Best Picture: The Exorcist, Jaws, Black Swan, The Silence of the Lambs, The Sixth Sense, and Get Out. The only horror film to actually win Best Picture was The Silence of the Lambs. Not only is it the only one to win Best Picture, it's the only one to sweep the top five categories (Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay. This year, the Academy nominated satirical body horror masterpiece The Substance for a whopping five categories, including Best Picture and Best Actress. Nosferatu and Alien: Romulus also received nominations, so it seems the Academy is finally taking horror seriously. This is a huge stepping stone for the genre, but which performances do you think should have been nominated in

What are your favorite unconventional Valentine's Day movies?

Valentine's Day is the holiday of love and affection. While there are plenty of incredible romance films, such as In the Mood for Love or Before Sunrise, some of us need a break from the woes of tragic romance. If you still want to get into the Valentine's Day mood, there are many unconventional movies featuring romance that will satiate your need for something different. Your Monster, Bones and All, and Crimson Peak all feature romance in very unconventional ways. If you're someone who likes their Valentine's Day watchlist to feature some thrills, what are some unusual movies you would recommend?

Masters of the Universe: is this franchise worth revisiting?

Now, I’m a 90s kid, so I’m not going to sit here and say I was a loyal follower of the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon from the late 80s. But I do remember seeing reruns of it from time and time and noticing the difference in quality to my more current animations. Now, I also know that there are a couple of He-Man, She-Ra and Masters of the Universe series on Netflix which gained a little traction when they were first released. But a live action movie? With casting announcements pushing their way into headline space? I’m all for revisiting beloved franchises after a good while has passed, but does Masters of the Universe still have a viable audience? You tell me! Let me know in the comments if you’re excited about this reboot!

Do you like the way Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage is looking for Mortal Kombat 2?

After the first Mortal Kombat had an impressive showing (even during the pandemic), Warner Brothers greenlit the sequel back in 2022. For two years or so, audiences only got to know about names attached to the project, like actors, actresses and directors. But that all stopped recently! In a poster that mimics action movies of the 80s and 90s, Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage is highlighted front and center - a character that many video game fans have been dying to see on the big screen. In my opinion, the character doesn’t look as refined as in the games, but I really think Urban will make up for it with his portrayal of an obnoxious character, haha. What do you think of Karl Urban’s Cage? Let me know in the comments below!
