Daegu International Vocal Music Competition announced that the first-ever North American preliminary of the competition is set to take place at the Marc A. Scorca Hall at New York's National Opera Center on July 11, 2025, where rising opera talents will compete with each other.

UNESCO City of Music Heritage & Member of the WFIMC
This renowned competition is based in Daegu, South Korea, a UNESCO-designated Creative City of Music. It is also a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC), adhering to globally recognized standards of excellence.
The one-day audition offers singers aged 18-35 direct entry to the Korean finals, where winners share over $41,000 in prizes, including $14,000 for first prize. This competition is jointly hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and the Daegu Music Association, and co-organized by the Dongil Cultural Scholarship Foundation.
