As social media continues to buzz with reactions, online detectives have unearthed a past video in which the Sue na Jonnie star openly talked about facing temptation in his marriage due to his public status.
“Temptations come especially for us who are public figures. The temptations are there every single day,” Marto candidly said in the resurfaced clip.
The throwback video, which has since gone viral, has fuelled conversations around the couple’s troubled marriage, with many suggesting Marto may have dropped hints about the issues he was facing behind the scenes.
Some online users have even labelled the clip as the trailer to the unfolding drama.
In the video, Marto admitted that while he had indeed been tempted, he had always chosen to remain cautious for the sake of his family.
“The temptations are always there; you just need to pray a lot. Unajiambia wacha umuachilie vizuri because there are some [women] you talk to and they decide to destroy everything, even when you’ve not done anything, and once it’s done, you can’t reel it back because some just don’t care,” he explained.
He added that being open about his love life was a strategy he used to safeguard his marriage, but admitted that he does have some secrets that even his wife does not know about.
The video resurfaced shortly after Koku made a series of explosive posts on social media, accusing the actor of cheating on her and physically abusing her after she confronted him and the alleged other woman.
According to Koku, Marto turned violent when she questioned him over his infidelity.
She also claimed that she had been the one footing the bills for their home, including paying rent and the nanny’s salary, because she had no alternative but to stay in the marriage.
Marto has since responded to the allegations.

Meanwhile, Koku shared screenshots of direct messages she claimed were from Daddie Marto’s father, Bernard Githinji.
The screenshots captured their alleged conversation, showing him urging her to stop airing their family issues online.
In the messages, he questioned what she hoped to gain by going public and reminded her that her children might one day read the posts.
He went on to call her a pathetic mother, accusing her of disregarding her children’s mental well-being.
