Actor Vikrant Massey responded to his Chhapaak co-star Deepika Padukone’s eight-hour work call, acknowledging the demands faced by young mothers. He also touched upon the broader challenges associated with managing a film production house.

In an interview with Firstpost, when asked about Deepika Padukone’s request for an eight-hour work schedule, Vikrant Massey shared that he hopes to adopt a similar approach in the near future. He said, “I aspire to do something like that very soon. Maybe in a couple of years... I want to go out and say, we can collaborate, but I would only work for eight hours. But at the same time, it should be a choice.”

The Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan actor further explained, “Money plays a very important role, and I will have to reduce my fees as I will be working for eight hours instead of twelve. If I cannot give my producer twelve hours a day, I cannot go out there and not reduce my fee. It’s a give-and-take, right? And as a young mother, I think Deepika deserves it.”

Earlier, Deepika Padukone exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit opposite Prabhas due to unmet demands, including her request for a shorter work schedule. Following her departure, actor Triptii Dimri was brought on board to replace her in the film.

Padukone will next appear in Atlee’s sci-fi action-thriller AA22xA6, co-starring Allu Arjun. The film is being produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.

Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey will be seen in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan alongside Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor. The romantic drama marks Shanaya’s Bollywood debut and is directed by Santosh Singh.

The film tells the story of two visually impaired individuals as they navigate love and modern relationships. It is co-written by director Santosh Singh and Mansi Bagla, with music composed by Vishal Mishra.

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is presented by Zee Studios and Mini Films, and is set for a theatrical release on July 11.
