A wild rumor claims that The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey is being eyed for a big Marvel role. While there aren’t any more details, we can guess it could be for X-Men.
Fans online are already speculating Bella Ramsey could actually be up to play the character, who debuted in the original X-Men animated series and returned recently in the Disney+ X-Men ’97 show.

While Morph isn’t a female, the X-Men ’97 series changed Morph into an LGBQT+ non-binary character who uses pronouns. This lines up with Ramsey’s own politics as she, too, uses they/them pronouns and has said she is “not 100 per cent straight. I’m a little bit wavy.” Her character in The Last of Us is also a lesbian.

If not Morph, there has also been fan art going around of Bella Ramsey as . You could make a case that her character, Bella, in The Last of Us is complex and emotional, similar to Rogue. There also seems to be a limited number of LGBQT+ characters in that post-apocalyptic world, much like how Rogue is so alone and isolated due to her mutant power where anyone she touches, she absorbs.
Another X-Men possibility could be , who was actually played by transgender actor Elliot Page in the original Fox X-Men movies. Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcat, can phase through solid matter—walls, floors, even attacks—by making her body intangible. She can also phase others and disrupt electronics by passing through them.

Kevin Feige has confirmed the new age of mutants kicks off following Avengers: Secret Wars.
It has even been rumored that Feige has been battling Disney CEO Bob Iger over the direction of the X-Men. It’s claimed Feige wants to stick with social commentary, which he has done post-Endgame, but that Iger wants the MCU’s X-Men to be a big action-packed blockbuster similar to movies such as Deadpool & Wolverine and The Avengers.

Rumors have also offered transgender actor Hunter Shafter is up for an MCU role, so if any of these potential castings are true, we see which direction Feige will be taking the MCU following Secret Wars.
Black actors are also rumored for both Professor X and Magneto.

The new X-Men movie hasn’t officially been announced and has no title or release date. Michael Lesslie is penning the screenplay, who recently wrote The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes starring Rachel Zegler. Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier is rumored to direct. Deadpool director Tim Miller has also thrown his hat into the ring.
