Cooper Flagg Sends Strong Message About Jon Scheyer During NCAA Tournament
Cooper Flagg and the Duke Blue Devils entered the NCAA Tournament with national title hopes after an ACC championship and incredible regular season run.
Duke was ranked as the No. 1 team in the East region. Flagg and the Blue Devils kicked off the NCAA Tournament with a dominant 93-49 win over Mount St Mary's and is now headed to the Round of 32.
They're set to play the Baylor Bears in the second round of the tournament.
As the Blue Devils prepare for a matchup against the Bears, Flagg joined the media for a few questions, discussing his time at Duke.
During the interview process, Flagg was asked about head coach Jon Scheyer, with one reporter asking why the former No. 1 overall player in high school basketball chose to play for the Blue Devils.
"It just kind of comes from him not always telling me what I want to hear," Flagg said. "Telling me I was great, telling me I was the next best thing. I think it just comes from that. He watched a lot of my games and we would talk after some of them and it's just about him telling me what he saw honestly, instead of just telling me what I want to hear."
