Colombian Woman Accused of Voter Fraud and $400,000 Benefit Theft

Seattle radio host Jason Rantz, along with content creator Natalie Beisner, appeared on ‘Fox News @ Night’ to discuss the portrayal of deportations and violent demonstrations at the University of Washington by the media. The conversation also included comparisons of how the media reports on photos of President Donald Trump and President Biden.

According to federal prosecutors on Thursday, a Colombian woman residing unlawfully in the U.S. used a stolen identity for over twenty years, illegally acquiring more than $400,000 in federal benefits and voting unlawfully in the 2024 presidential election.

Lina Maria Orovio-Hernandez, 59, also obtained welfare benefits, a REAL ID and eight other state ID’s, the Justice Department said.

The prosecutors allege that Orovio-Hernandez registered to vote fraudulently in January 2023 using the stolen identity and participated in the presidential election last year. She was reportedly captured on a bank’s surveillance footage wearing an “I voted” sticker on Election Day, November 5, 2024, as stated in court documents.

She also applied for a U.S. passport, claiming to be a U.S. citizen who was born in Puerto Rico, authorities said.

Orovio-Hernandez wasn’t entitled to any of the benefits she received, said Foley, citing her illegal presence in the U.S.

“Stealing someone’s identity to unlawfully obtain Social Security benefits is not just theft—it’s a long-term abuse of a system meant to support those truly in need,” said Amy Connelly, the special agent in charge for the Social Security Administration (SSA), Office of the Inspector General in the Boston-New York field division.
