Coldplay Concert Ahmedabad: Railways announce special trains for fans, check routes, stops, dates - The Economic Times

In response to a huge demand for tickets before the Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad, Western Railway has announced special trains to Ahmedabad. The British rock band, known for its global popularity, will perform at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26 as part of their "Music of the Spheres" tour.

To accommodate fans traveling to the event, Western Railway has introduced two special trains between Bandra Terminus and Ahmedabad. The announcement was by Western Railway's official account on X (formerly Twitter).

"WR will run Train Nos. 09461/62 Bandra Terminus - Ahmedabad Superfast Special to meet the travel demand created by Coldplay concertgoers traveling to Ahmedabad and other passengers. The booking for Train Nos. 09461 and 09462 will open on 22.01.2025, tomorrow, at all PRS Counters and the IRCTC Website," the post read.

Train No. 09461, Bandra Terminus–Ahmedabad Superfast Special, will depart from Bandra Terminus on January 25 at 5:35 PM and reach Ahmedabad at 1:45 AM the next day.

The return train, Train No. 09462, Ahmedabad–Bandra Terminus Superfast Special, will leave Ahmedabad on January 24 at 6:00 PM, arriving at Bandra Terminus at 4:20 AM the following day.

The trains will stop at key stations, including Borivali, Dahanu Road, Vapi, Valsad, Udhna, and Vadodara, in both directions. Passengers can choose from AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.

Train No. 01157: Departs Dadar at 00:35 hrs on January 26, 2025, arrives Ahmedabad at 11:00 hrs the same day.
Train No. 01158: Departs Ahmedabad at 02:00 hrs on January 27, 2025, arrives Dadar at 12:55 hrs the same day.
Halts: Thane, Bhiwandi Road, Kaman Road, Vasai Road, Vapi, Udhna, Surat, and Vadodara
Composition: 2 First AC, 2 First AC cum 2 AC, 1 Second AC, 2 Second AC cum Third AC, 9 Third AC, 2 Second Seating cum Guard’s Brake Van


Train 09009 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Superfast Special will commence from Mumbai Central at 8.25am on Sunday and arrive in Ahmedabad at 2.25 pm. Its return journey will begin at 3.10pm, reaching Mumbai Central at 9.45pm the same day.

The Dadar-Ahmedabad Superfast Special will depart Dadar at 12.35am on Sunday, reaching Ahmedabad at 11am. The Ahmedabad-Dadar Superfast Special will leave Ahmedabad at 2am on Monday, arriving at Dadar at 12.55pm.

Bookings for these trains opened on January 22 through all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and the IRCTC website.

For Coldplay’s concerts at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, organisers arranged Full Tariff Rate (FTR) suburban local trains for attendees, ensuring smooth travel for fans.

With the special trains, Western Railway aims to provide relief to concertgoers amid increased travel demand and high airfares.
