In a recent Instagram post, Teigen shared how to make her favorite Super Bowl party recipe: Frito pie. While she’s garnered the reputation for being the cook of the household, her husband, John Legend, can also throw down in the kitchen (prime example: his legendary mac and cheese). To make the Frito pie, Teigen starts with his chili recipe. “They don’t call me Father Chili for nothing,” Legend says. (“Nobody calls you that,” Teigen chimes in.)

She starts by browning ground meat. Then she adds onions, mushrooms, and seasonings, and lets the mixture cook for about 10 minutes. Next, Teigen adds water, tomato sauce, kidney beans, and brown sugar, and lets the mixture simmer. Once the chili is ready and has thickened up, it’s Frito pie time! Teigen and Legend take the chili, spoon it directly into a bag of Fritos, and top it with sour cream, cheese, jalapeño peppers, and green onion.

“Mmm it’s so good,” Teigen says as she takes a bite. The best part is you can make a Frito pie bar — just leave the warm pot of chili on the stove, lay out the various toppings and bags of Fritos (the star of the show), and let people just serve themselves. It’s “the perfect way to serve up game-day snacks — even if you’re just tuning in for the half-time show,” Teigen adds.

People in the comments were loving the idea, with one person saying, “Can’t wait to make this!” and another saying, “Adding to my menu! I am now twice as excited for Sunday!” I am, too — even if I’m only in it for the food.
