Chelsea news: Fan views on Dean Huijsen interest

Published 1 month ago2 minute read

Following the news of Chelsea's interest in Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, we asked for your views on the potential move.

Here are some of your comments:

Louis: Please, can we just sign a goalkeeper and a centre-forward? I like Huijsen but we have Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, and more on loan. A new centre-back is not what we need. Only if we offload one or two would I want us to sign Huijsen.

Steve: Don't let Chelsea get hold of him. We already have too many players who don't get enough game time without ruining his progression. Anyway, we won't be in the Champions League next season - we'll be lucky if we make the Europa League with our one-strategy manager.

Crawf: Fits the Chelsea model of buying up young talent. Certainly looks like he has the tools to go on and be a great defender for years to come, adding to his value and sell-on. Suspect he is good enough now to get first-team action regularly at Chelsea, but would he be guaranteed that with the other clubs in for him?

Chris: What is wrong with the people running our club? We need success - now. Trophies - now. Not another young signing. We need an experienced leader, dominating from central defence, a solid goalkeeper and two top-class, proven strikers that pull in close to 20 goals each next season. £50m for a 20-year-old who may not get a start? Ridiculous. But that's Chelsea for you.

Dave: Exciting? Yes, the potential is undoubtedly exciting - but is exciting potential what the club needs right now? No, we've got enough of that. A bit of boring, but high quality, experience is what the club needs at centre-back. A steady partner for Colwill to grow alongside. A partnership of Huijsen and Colwill is potentially great, but who is stepping up as the senior leader between them?
