Charlize Theron showed off a straight-from-the-runway Givenchy look as she arrived in New York City on Wednesday to attend the 2025 Netflix Upfront, where she presented her upcoming film “Apex.” The presentation took place at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in the Financial District, and Teyana Taylor, Adam Brody, Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Bell, and more Netflix stars were also in attendance.
For the event, Theron wore a pristine white shirt dress from Givenchy’s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection, which was presented during Paris Fashion Week in March. She wore the asymmetric, collared dress buttoned to the top and with rolled up sleeves, and her hair was styled up in a loose bun.
To fend off the rainy weather in NYC, the actress wore a pair of patent leather boots from the brand, which featured a slight square toe and reached her calf. They were the same pair that appeared on the runway along with the dress in March.
Model Hejia Li showcased the look during the Givenchy show, which marked Sarah Burton’s debut as the label’s creative director after spending her helm at Alexander McQueen. The Givenchy collection was styled by Camilla Nickerson and cast by Jess Hallett.
“Burton nailed it with an exhilarating display of new silhouettes, including dramatic hourglass coats and jackets, geometric babydolls and austere gowns whereby a triangle or square of leather descends from the throat,” WWD’s Miles Socha described in a review. “The clothes were superb, peerlessly realized and immediately desirable; sometimes young and zesty, but most often the pinnacle of adult sophistication. Here was a show where you could sense how proud the models were to wear them, and the entire cast of diverse sizes and ages looked gorgeous.”
At Wednesday’s event, Theron took the stage saying she was “fresh off the mountain” after filming “Apex” in Australia. She revealed she suffered an injury on set, which she said was hidden by her “cute” Givenchy boot. “God, I miss early mornings in the wilderness, birds chirping, extremes babbling, and the leaves rustling as a serial killer waits for me,” Theron said. “It’s actually a miracle that I’m here today. ‘Apex’ only wrapped like a week ago, so I’m fresh off the mountain. I still have some Australian dirt under this pretty manicure, and my cute boot is hiding a fractured toe.”
“Apex” follows a grieving woman who seeks solace in the wilderness, only to find herself ensnared in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a serial killer. Taron Egerton and Eric Bana also star in the film.
