Chamber Music Showcase: School of Music Presents
Lee University’s chamber music program provides students with an immersive experience in classical music through small ensemble performance. Students undergo auditions to be placed in duos, trios, and other groupings. These ensembles then engage in weekly coaching sessions with faculty members from Lee’s School of Music, receiving valuable critique and guidance.
The showcase serves as a platform to highlight the progress these chamber ensembles have made throughout the semester. This particular showcase will feature a trio and a duo, both entirely student-run.
Dr. Warner emphasized the unique musical selections chosen for the performance, stating, Dr. Chien has once again found music for unique combinations of instruments and voice—music that challenges and motivates the students.
He further added, I think audience members will be impressed at the musical maturity and professionalism of our students.
The two ensembles will present works by renowned composers such as Hector Berlioz, Carl Maria von weber, and anton Arensky, showcasing a diverse range of classical repertoire.
