Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is widely regarded as the greatest women’s college basketball player in Iowa Hawkeyes history. In her senior season, she averaged 31.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game.

During her time in Iowa City, Clark met her boyfriend Connor McCaffery, a former player for the Iowa men’s basketball team. They overlapped for three seasons, from 2020-21 to 2022-23.

McCaffery later served as the Indiana Pacers’ basketball development coordinator during the 2023-24 season before leaving the role to become an assistant coach at Butler University for the men's basketball program.

On Wednesday, The City League, a nonprofit organization that hosts a community basketball tournament,  McCaffery and his former Iowa teammate Tony Perkins on social media.

"Perkins had 14 points while Connor dropped 15 big ones in his team’s ten-point victory. We look forward to watching these two over the next 5 weeks!" said The City League in the post.

McCaffery is playing for a team representing NBA Math Hoops this summer, while Perkins is competing with a team of Lawrence North alumni.

McCaffery reposted the picture of the two of them on his Instagram, attaching a one-word caption to the story post.

"Family!" he wrote.

The winning team of the competitive basketball tournament in Indianapolis will be awarded a cash prize of $3,000.

McCaffery and Perkins played 100 games together at Iowa, winning 67. In their final season (2022-23), both were named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by coaches and media.
